The final results of the 2019 call are now available.

17 projects selected in the last year’s call will receive a contribution close to €70m from the FCH  JU. 9 projects in the energy field will receive almost €30m, while  €20m have been allocated to the development of a hydrogen valley in the Northern Netherlands region.

Project development assistance for regions (PDA): deadline extended!

Is your region looking to develop a fuel cells and hydrogen project?

Building on the success of the Regions and Cities Initiative, we have launched a call for Expressions of Interest to aid local authorities in developing their work plans for regional hydrogen projects. These projects will accelerate the progress of hydrogen deployment in Europe by providing a blueprint to other regional hydrogen projects, as part of a drive towards carbon neutrality.

Hydrogen regions get further support in Germany

Germany is on its way to becoming a hydrogen country: 16 more regions received today, 12 December 2019, support for developing H2 projects.

The development of hydrogen regions (“valleys”) can foster economic growth in the European regions while answering to the local energy needs and reducing pollution. It covers the entire hydrogen value chain: production, storage, distribution and final use. As such, “Hydrogen Valleys” offer a pathway for scaling up and making this technology a viable solution.

Hydrogen is ready to forge a zero-emission economy, FCH JU Stakeholder Forum confirms

“The green energy transition is not an option but a necessity. I see a pivotal role for clean hydrogen…it is an area where Europe is still leading. Why not extend the lead on something that could be one of the most important solutions for clean energy?" said Frans Timmermans, First Vice-President of the European Commission, in the opening session of the 2019 Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) Stakeholder Forum, on 21 November in Brussels.

Driving forward European fuel-cell technology - FCH JU Awards 2019

The Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Undertaking (FCH JU) has announced the winners of the 2019 FCH Awards. The successful projects reduce fuel-cell technology production costs, speed up manufacturing, develop new materials to increase fuel-cell performance and demonstrate how people can rely on hydrogen energy. Overall, they pave the way for a world-class European fuel-cell industry that sustains clean energy.
