Horizon 2020 approval by Parliament a boost for European research and innovation

The European Commission welcomed the European Parliament's adoption of Horizon 2020, the next EU research and innovation programme. With a budget of nearly EUR 80 billion euro over seven years, Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU research programme yet, and one of the biggest publicly funded worldwide. It is also one of only very few programmes in the next EU budget to see a strong increase in funding – a nearly 30 per cent jump in real terms over the current Seventh Framework Programme.

Fuel Cells and Hydrogen top Europe’s Innovation Investment Package

On the 10th July 2013, FCH JU welcomed the European Commission’s proposal to renew and strengthen the Joint Undertaking. As part of the package(€ 22 billion) to be invested in innovation for sectors that deliver high quality jobs, this strengthening plan, built upon the success of the first generation of the programme from 2008-2013, aim to boost even more the competitiveness of EU industry.   Some 150 projects and over 430 industry and research organisations have won support under the annual, competitive calls for proposals issued by the current programme of FCH JU.

Fuel Cells and Hydrogen for Maritime and Harbour Applications

On the 14th June 2013, a full-day workshop organized by FCH JU on “Fuel Cells and Hydrogen for maritime and harbour applications: current status and future perspectives in the EU” took place in the meeting room “Sala Oro” c/o Confindustria in Venice. As part of this program, a visit of some hydrogen initiatives funded by the Veneto Regional Government has been organized on the day before, the 13 June.

the Brussels Festival of sustainable development will host fuel cells and hydrogen technologies

The Fuel cells and hydrogen Joint Undertaking will be exhibiting at the Festival of sustainable development which will take place on 10 & 11 November 2012, in Wolubilis. The Festival, open to the general public, will feature exhibitions, documentaries, photos exhibitions, musical shows, debates as well conferences. The FCH JU will notably participate to the conference on electro-mobility, scheduled for Saturday 10 November 2012, at 17.00.

Launch of a public consultation on research and innovation on fuel cells and hydroge in Horizon 2020

In preparation of Horizon 2020, the new multiannual framework programme for research and innovation, a public consultation has been launched by the European Commission on 12 July 2012  to collect the views of the stakeholders and the wider public on the fuel cells and hydrogen sector, on research & innovation in this field in Europe, and on the possible continuation of the FCH JU. The consultation is open until 4 October 2012.

Eu Sustainable energy week events: FCH JU exhibition in the European Parliament and energy day on fuel cells and hydrogen technologies

At the occasion of the European Sustainable Energy Week and the Danish presidency of the European Union, the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking is organising an Exhibition in the European Parliament, hosted by Danish MEP Morten Messerschmidt.

The exhibition ‘Let Hydrogen Move You’ will take place from 18 to 21 June, in the European Parliament, Brussels, PHS Building, 2nd Floor, Mezzanine Menuhin. The vernissage is taking place on 20 June 2012, 12.30-14.30 pm.

From 3-7 June, the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking  will be present at the World Hydrogen Energy Conference in Toronto, Canada, which will bring together the world's hydrogen and fuel cell community.
