FCH JU welcomes the publication of the guidelines for emergency service operations at hydrogen service tank facilities.
Published by DEMA, the Danish Emergency Management Agency, the main purpose fof this document is to teach fire departments on how the emergency response should be at hydrogen refueling stations.

On the 10th July 2013, FCH JU welcomed the European Commission’s proposal to renew and strengthen the Joint Undertaking. On the 14th June 2013, a full-day workshop organized by FCH JU on “Fuel Cells and Hydrogen for maritime and harbour applications: current status and future perspectives in the EU” took place in the meeting room “Sala Oro” c/o Confindustria in Venice. A new, small series production, ix35 Fuel Cell was handed over to Bert De Colvenaer, Executive Director of the FCH-JU by Stephen Stacey, Representative to the EU and Director of the Hyundai Motor Company Brussels Office on 29 May in Brussels.
The Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell was selected in March 2013 for the second year running by the FCH JU to demonstrate the real-world benefits of hydrogen fuel cell technology. The new model offers even greater performance and driving comfort

On the 25th of April 2013, the UK Business and Energy Minister Michael Fallon welcomed the publication of the full UKH2Mobility report on hydrogen vehicles.
The UKH2Mobility project - which brings together leading businesses from the automotive, energy, infrastructure and retail sectors with government – produced the report to provide a ‘roadmap’ for the introduction of vehicles and hydrogen refuelling infrastructure in the UK.

10 January 2013- The zero-emission Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell has been awarded the prestigious FuturAuto accolade at the 2013 Brussels Motor Show. The ix35 Fuel Cell was selected as the winner for becoming the first mass-produced, hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicle commercially available.

The European Union is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 80 percent by 2050, something which will also require a 95% reduction in road transport. Achieving this objective requires combining two actions: (1) Increasing the share of public transport; and (2) promoting the use of low-emission vehicles.
