The first public access hydrogen refuelling station opened in London on the 10 May 2016, with the presence of Mr Andrew Jones MP, Transport Minister at Department for Transport and with the automotive OEMs Hyundai, Toyota, Honda and Renault partner Symbio FCell. The first publicly accessible hydrogen station in Belgium opened on 22nd of April 2016 as part of the FCH2 JU funded project, SWARM. The Air Liquide station opened in the presence of the Flemish Minister and Director of Innovative and Sustainable Mobility at the European Commission, with SWARM partners H20 e-mobile and Microcab Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles on show. At the beginning of April, for the first time cars from all five car manufacturers involved in the FCH JU funded project HyFIVE (Hydrogen for Innovative Vehicles) were together in one place on the occasion of the project's mid- term review. The partners took the opportunity to bring each of their vehicles. In 2009, the well-known book entitled “The Hydrogen Economy – Opportunities and Challenges” was used as a reference document for the establishment of the European Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Technology Initiative. On the Thursday 03 March a new hydrogen refuelling station, delivered by H2 Logic was inaugurated in Kolding, Denmark. This narrows the driving distance to the nearest station in Hamburg, Germany to only 245km (150 miles) making cross-border driving on hydrogen even more comfortable.
