23/05/2011

Approximately 130 representatives of industry and research joined the 3rd FCH JU Brokerage event on 19 May 2011, highlighting the importance of Fuel Cells and Hydrogen technologies for European energy future. Taking place in the excellent premises of Hotel Kempinski in Berlin, the meeting was an invaluable opportunity for all parties interested in responding to the Call for proposals 2011 to receive detailed information about the call, discuss concrete project ideas and find partners for their project consortia.

After opening remarks by Mr. Pierre Etienne Franc, Chairman of NEW-IG Board, the participants appreciated inspiring contributions by high-level speakers: Mr. Rudolf Strohmeier, Deputy Director-General of DG Research and Innovation of the European Commission and Mr. François Darchis, Senior Vice President of Air Liquide. Focusing on the Call for proposals, Ms. Eveline Waidner from the FCH JU Programme Office guided participants through all practicalities and a presentation on Project contribution was given by Ms. Ilse Van Hartevelt from the NEW-IG Secretariat. Both presentations were followed by lively Q&A sessions.

Participants then fully used the possibility to discuss concrete ideas in four break-out sessions created according to application areas: Transport & Refuelling Infrastructure; Hydrogen Production & Distribution; Stationary Power Generation & Combined Heat & Power and Early Markets.
