Online Workshop: Decarbonisation of Heavy Duty Vehicle Transport
The Joint Research Centre of the European Commission are organising an Online Workshop “Decarbonisation of Heavy Duty Vehicles: Zero Emission Heavy Goods Vehicles” which will take place on Wednesday October 28th 2020 from 10:00 to 16:30.
The overall aim of the workshop is to consider the different options for full decarbonisation of the Heavy Duty Road Transport sector by 2050, considering technologies that are zero-emission at the point of use. The scope will include Hydrogen Fuel Cells, Batteries and Catenary/Pantograph vehicles and the associated infrastructure. The presentations will provide an overview of the status of technological readiness, and assess the environmental benefit through presenting relevant Life-Cycle Assessment studies of each of the options. Techno-economic assessments will also be presented.
The workshop will include four sessions in the following structure:
• Session 1: Policy Context
• Session 2: Technology options
• Session 3: Comparison by LCA/Well-to-wheel studies, Techno-economic Assessment
• Session 4: Panel Discussion
Please note that separate registration is required for each individual that wishes to attend the workshop. There is no charge for attendance but places may be limited due to technical constraints.
